Mostenica was originaly a metallurgy settlement where iron ore from Spana dolina had been melted. The settlement have been estabilished in 1340 but even today we can find some traces reminding the time when the ore was work up there. The village has its administrative building with the memorial desk, where year 1561 is written. Or we can see a classicism church from the middle of 19th century with oil-painting from J.B.Klement from 1846.
